Columbus, Wisconsin (4,991 at the 2010 census) is located in Columbia County. Columbus is located 41 miles NE of the Wisconsin capital city of Madison and 78 miles NW of Milwaukee. Columbus has easy access to Madison via US HWY 151, and via US I-94 to Milwaukee, both of which are major commuting arteries in the Southern Wisconsin area.
Events The Redbud Festival occurs in May around Mother's Day. Each year the community crowns a prince and princess during the budding of the "Columbus Wisconsin Strain" of the redbud tree (cercis canadensis). The festival includes brats, music, and trees in full bloom.
